Spielmannszug Milwaukee:  Bockbierfest 2008

Bruce Larson "Der Kaiser"

Milwaukee On Saturday, April 26th, the Spielmannszug Milwaukee opened the doors of Hart Park Hall for their annual Bockbierfest. Many, "regulars" and new visitors followed the invitation to enjoy a great evening of food, beer and traditional music from the Alte Kameraden Band. The Drum and Bugle Corps opened the evening. President Ed Weiss welcomed all the guests and especially a great supporter of the Spielmannszug Bruce Larson, better known as Der Kaiser" from Minneapolis. The Danube Cultural Society entertained the crowd with some wonderful performed dances.

A drinking contest, with Nonalcoholic beer, decided who would be crowned as the 2008 Bockbier King and Bockbier Queen. The King and Queen are, Nile McKibben and Keri Scholz. It was tough competition and every participant deserves recognition, but only the best will be crowned.

A surprise to all visitors was the appearance of the Milwaukee Brewer sausages who joined in with the fun and danced like there was no tomorrow. The Alte Kameraden played for listening and dancing pleasure for the rest of the night. The evening was a great success and we all look forward to Bockbierfest 2009 on April 25, 2009.

We want to thank all of our supporters and hope to see many of you during our Mardi Gras events. Please visit us also on www.spielmannszug.org.
