Sterling
Heights The Schwäbische Männerchor will perform
this year's Spring Concert on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 at the Carpathia Hall
in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The concert will start at 7:30 PM.
After an unusual
lengthy and tough winter season, it will be a delight to listen to the
sounds and lyrics of the songs, which will be performed at this concert.
Rest assured, it will be an uplifting experience to enjoy the ambience of
the choir singing the songs so very appropriate for the spring season.
Presently, the
choir has approximately 40 singing members and holds weekly rehearsals at
the Carpathia Hall. Under the direction of our very capable music director,
Erwin Aufdemberge, the choir practices mostly German songs on an ongoing
basis.
Currently, the
focus is on rehearsing for the upcoming Spring Concert. However, some of the
repertoire the choir works on, is geared towards the Schwäbische
Männerchor's 75th Anniversary, coming up in early May of 2009. To
appropriately celebrate this event, the choir will put on a Gala Anniversary
concert with guest choirs from Germany and Chicago. More information about
the 75th Anniversary events will come forward in this newspaper as well as
in other publications.
