Sterling
Heights The Carpathia Club graciously hosted the
German American Networking Fair, conducted by our German American Cultural
Center on March 9th, 2008. Committee work was performed by Christina
Griesser, Marianne Krenzer, Irmgard Krause and George Schemmel, Jr.. Special
thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this one a great success.
From the cooks to the floor-layout and table setup crew, each member pulled
together to make this fair great.
This year, we saw
roughly six-hundred-thirty guests (visitors and exhibitors). Most each and
every club or group put together very nice displays of their heritage and
crafts. Commercial exhibitors including delicatessens, butchers, bakers and
candlestick makers (as the children's story goes) gave raffle prizes, such
that raffle gifts/prizes were awarded almost continually! Spiral-cut hams,
sausages, loafs of bread, health-conscious items and products, and countless
other fine prizes kept a steady stream of people heading to the stage to
collect their winnings.
Special thanks to
our treasured Wochen-Post, who also tended a booth! If you wish to receive a
copy of our GANF Directory listing each and all vendors / exhibitors, email
George Schemmel, Jr. President - German American Cultural Center at
bytemacher@gmail.com" putting GANF Directory Request" in your subject. You
will receive your file by email. Once again, thank you to everybody for
working so hard, and our valued guests for making this year's GANF a real
treat for us all.
Ticket sales are
going very well for the GACC Fashion Show scheduled for April 24th, 2008.
