Sport Club 1924,
the oldest soccer team in the state of Michigan, was founded by German
immigrants who wished to participate and compete in various sports. It is
one of the most prestigious and winningest clubs, capturing numerous
Michigan State Soccer Championships throughout the years. During the 1990's
Sport Club 1924 shrank to a smaller club that needed a home field and place
to practice. The Austrian Society of Detroit told the club that we may use
the soccer field at Austrian park as our field under the condition that we
become paying members and help with events and functions that are held
during the year. It was agreed and since the 1990's we are now Austrian
Sport Club 1924.
You pay Austrian
Sport Club 1924 dues as well as Austrian Society of Detroit dues every year.
Austrian Sport Club 1924 has a nice club house that is located at Austrian
Park, and was renovated by our members and is a place to gather after games,
practices or just meet and talk of past and current events.
