Milwaukee
The Spielmannszug Milwaukee held his annual General Meeting on Saturday
March 29, 2008 at the Weissgerbers Gasthaus in Waukesha. President Ed Weiss,
welcomed all the members that attended and thanked the board and members for
all the work in the past year. Every board member gave a brief report of the
past year and then the members relieved them of their duties.
After a short
break, so everybody got to refill their drinks, the election board, headed
by Michel Aboul-Zelaf, began with the election of the new board. The new
board of the Spielmannszug for the year 2008/2009 is as follows; President -
Ed Weiss, 1st Vice-President - Joshua McCutcheon, 2nd Vice President -
Dieter Schnappup, Secretary - Irene Bayer, Treasurer - John Bayer,
Press-Secretary - Hans-Peter Schaaf, Equipment Manager - Jean Weiss,
Entertainment Chairman - Irene Poe, Dues-Collector - Marlene Sliga,
Tanzsterne Representative - Irene Wagner, Bummelkasseschatzmeister - Joe
Wissmann, Correspondence - Donna Priem, Trustee's - Ed Krueger and John
Sliga.
After the dinner,
President Ed Weiss presented certificates and pins to members for their
years of membership. Following members were honored; 5 years - Karl and Eric
Ostermann, Donald Gagas, Shzon Jackson; 10 years - Hans-Peter Schaaf, Carol
Wissmann, Erika Brockerhoff; 15 years - Jürgen Schreck, Horst and Heidi
Wieder, Amanda Kay, 20 years - Heidi Weiss, 25 years - Doris and Jerry
Fischer, 30 years - Inge and Frank Fink, Ed Weiss, 35 years - Roswitha and
Dieter Schnappup, 40 years - Gerda and Günther Ille, 45 years - Vivian Jung,
and for 50 years membership - Oskar Rehm.
Ed Weiss thanked
the Prinzenpaar, Prinz Richard and Prin-zessin Mary for a wonderful season
and as a token of appreciation presented them a plaque of the Spielmannszug.
Miss Bierzeitung, Cornelia Ille, started now the amusing part of the
Kameradschaftsabend, by presenting the members the Annual Bierzeitung. Some
good laughs over the so hard collected stories from the past year concluded
another nice day of camaraderie at the Spielmannszug. We hope that the
members will continue to support the board members and hope to see many of
our friends at our Annual Bockbierfest on April 26, 2008 at Hart Park Hall
in Wauwatosa.
