Simon and Julian Aytes

Brownstown Township - Preparations are in full swing at the Germania Club for their 35th Annual German American Festival held June 2nd through June 4th at the club's home at 23156 King Road in Brownstown, Michigan.

The festivities will begin on Friday June 2nd at 5 PM with music provided by the Vagabonds and the Rhinelanders from 5:30 PM until 12 AM. On Saturday, the Berg Duo and the Martin Bros will provide musical entertainment from 3:30 PM until 12 AM. The highlight of the evening will be a Flag Ceremony, presenting area German clubs. On Sunday, the band Solitaire and Harmony will be featured from 2:30 PM until 8 PM. The Red Hat" ladies will be making a special appearance on Sunday afternoon and there will be a Kinderparade" for our youngest guests also on Sunday.

Plenty of German food (including potato pancakes), wine and beer will be on hand um Leib und Seele zusammenzuhalten" (to benefit body and soul). The Konditorei (cake kitchen) is stocked with delicious cakes and baked goods while the Weinstube" invites our guests to take a rest from dancing and to enjoy a glass of wine or two and good conversation. In addition there will be a beer tent for those who prefer to sit outside.

The club invites everybody to come and enjoy German music, food, and drink and promises a weekend full of fun and Gemütlichkeit.
