Karneval Season Opened at Germania Club Downriver

Prinz RichardMiller leads the pagentry when the spirit of Karnavel is removed from his year-long resting place to preside over the fun and merriment of the season at theGermania Club Downriver. The solemn figure at the far right is Walter Lambart.

Brownstown Township Germania Club in Brownstown got the Karneval season off to a flying start on November 11, the traditional opening day for the Karneval Season. Music was amply supplied by the Sorgenbrecher, a delicious array of foods provided by catering by Kelly, wonderful desserts provided by Kathy Baganz as well as a fine selection of spirits and German beer courtesy of Bar Manager Walter Bayko. Tom Schleif, President of the Karneval Society at Germania, welcomed all who attended and shortly after 8:11pm Prince Richard read the Proclamation that got the party started. Honored guests where GBU Saxonia/Rheingold as well as a group from Plymouth German Club. Activities included a Parade of the Karneval Societies followed by the awakening of Prince Karneval, who had been asleep since Karneval closing last February. We invite all to join us for Karneval closing January 27, 2007 for more fun and entertainment.
