Germania Club Downriver hosting 34th German-American Festival

Brownstown ­ Traditional German Foods, Beverages, plus old-country hospitality we call Gemütlichkeit", will be featured at the upcoming 3-day event. The festivities will begin on June 3 at 5p.m. until midnight, June 4 at 3p.m. until midnight and June 5 at 2p.m. until 8p.m. The club is located at 23156 King Rd., between Dix-Toledo and Telegraph Rd. in Brownstown.

Entertainment will be: Hank Haller and the Martin Brothers on Friday, Harmonie and the Vagabonds on Saturday, the Rhinelanders and The Berg Duo on Sunday. On Saturday, Folk Dancers from Carpathia and the Carpathia Youth Group will be performing.

German wines will be served in the Weinstube and delicious cakes and pastries will be available in the Konditorei. German Schnitzel, Sausage and Pancakes will be featured on the menu along with other traditional treats.

There will be a Red Hatters parade and contest at 4p.m. on Sunday. Prizes will be awarded. Also on Sunday at 5p.m., the traditional Kinderparade (children's parade) with treats for the children will take place. Tickets are $3.00 and $2.50 in advance. Children 12 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a parent. Come and join us for a weekend of camaraderie and fun for all.
