Sterling Heights The
German-American Cultural Center (GACC) of Detroit sponsored bus trip to the
GAF festival in Oregon, Ohio was a great success. A group of 50 people, left
on Sunday, August 28 at 11:00am and returned at 9:15pm that night. The group
was made up of members of most of the affiliated clubs and a few friends.
We
were greeted by the chairman of the fest and provided us with excellent
seats in the main tent and several pitchers of refreshments to help us feel
welcome.
The weather was perfect. The fest was perfect. The entertainment, food and
drinks also made the day one that everyone will remember.
Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the trip possible especially
Helen Gassel who handled the reservations and bus connection.
We
are planning to go again next year, so mark your calendar for the last
weekend in August. |
