Heights The Seniors' Card Party took place on
Sunday, October 22, 2005. With much anticipation, the event began at noon
with an excellent goulash dinner, which was enjoyed by all. Attending the
party this year were 93 members of the senior group and 50 non-member
guests. Annemarie Gerhardt, President of Carpathia Club, honored the seniors
with her presence.
The participants
spent the afternoon playing cards, socializing, and just having "some good
old" senior-style fun! The card players' enthusiastic games were happily
interrupted with continuous servings of delicious pastries and cookies,
which were generously donated by various members of the senior group. And
let's not forget to mention the wonderful Kipfels that were also served that
afternoon. These well-known Carpathia delicacies were baked by Anna
Fellinger, the leader of the senior group, and her assistants. Adding to the
excitement was a raffle to round off the event's program.
This card party
was an uplifting experience for the seniors, and it served as a tune-up for
the old engine. Hand me the spark plug please! So eine Party ist eine
Massage fürs Herz und Gemüt.
