Sterling Heights The Siebenbürger
Sachsen Verein (Transylvanian Saxon Club), founded on February 24, 1913,
celebrated their 93rd Anniversary with a Dinner/Dance held at the Carpathia
Club on March 18, 2006.
Five Past Presidents of Branch 37 were honored at thisspecial occasion:
George Spielhaupter, John Schemmel, Sam Klein, Joe Bender and Larry Kracker.
Also two members attained 50 year membership: Mary and John Schindler, and
Jim Smith celebrated 25 year life membership.
Members and friends had a very pleasant evening by dancing to the music of
the Berg Duo and many attendees enjoyed winning raffle prizes.

SaxonExhibit of original and newer Saxon handicrafts, i.e. an embroidered
sheepskin coat from the year 1864, were on display for everyone's enjoyment.
