Warren The Detroit Schwaben
UnterstützungsVerein held its quarterly meeting on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at
the Carpathia Hall.
The meeting was well attended. After the minutes and committee reports were
read and approved it was time to welcome a new member into the Verein:
Joseph Wieland. He will be a passive member. Walter and Linda Rothenberger
returned from Florida, were Linda was recovering from her injuries. Nice to
have them back: We also were able to greet Hans and Gertrude Daschner who
live up in Prudenville. Their coming down for the meeting is well
appreciated. The bylaws committee was completed with Tim Reiter volunteering
to join John and Jane Horlacher. President Hubert Rosch thanked the new
bylaw committee for taking on the job and the responsibilities for such an
important position. Vergnü-gungsChairperson AnnaMaria Mapes outlined the
plans for our FAMILY picnic on June 11, 2006. Again, it will be a funfilled
afternoon for the members and their families. So,, members put this date on
your calendar.
President Hubert Rosch, Secretary Lisa Gerstheimer, Financial Secretary
Walter Rothenberger and his wife Linda, as well as Joe Wieland represented
our Verein at the Banquet of the Toledo Schwaben Verein on Saturday, April
22, 2006. It was an enjoyable evening which only ended too soon.
